The guidelines provide practical advice to local chemical businesses across various critical areas such as production, safety, environmental protection, emergency response, export control, customs procedures, and the construction of comprehensive compliance management systems. The initiative seeks to provide valuable references and practical operational guidance for compliance management in the chemical sector.
Lin Wei, vice chairman of the Zhejiang Provincial Committee of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, said that Zhejiang is home to numerous small- and medium-sized trade enterprises, many of which confront compliance-related issues such as a reluctance to adhere to regulations, limited compliance capabilities, and managing compliance costs.
Lin said that compliance management is essential for businesses seeking to establish a foothold in international markets.
Quzhou, located in the western part of Zhejiang province and bordering Fujian, Jiangxi, and Anhui provinces, is home to several well-known chemical companies, including the Juhua Group Corporation.
Since 2019, the Quzhou Municipal Committee of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade has been dedicated to improving compliance in international business operations by creating a comprehensive compliance service structure and facilitating a three-tiered legal service framework spanning provincial, municipal, and county levels. Notably, this three-tiered service mechanism has assisted local businesses in reducing overseas losses of approximately 29.9 million yuan (US$4.11 million).
